When you go to a haunted house, it may seem like you’re being funny by trying to scare the actors or jump out at them when you go through a second time, but guess what? ITS NOT FUNNY.

You pay us to scare you. It is your choice to go, so don’t fucking go through if you’re going to ignore the rules and get too close to the actors as a ‘joke’.

These bruises happened because over the course of 4 hours, several people ignored the instructions that CLEARLY stated that they were to wait in the front room until told otherwise. Rather than listen, they ran into the next room and slammed into me- effectively throwing me into the wall. This didn’t only happen once. It happened ten times at LEAST.

Then we had this asshole who thought that once I ‘died’ for the haunt, he could pretend to kick me to see if I’d moved. I, being used to people abusing me- jumped back and slammed my head into the concrete wall.

YOU ARE NOT FUNNY BY BEING RUDE AT A HAUNTED HOUSE. WE ARE PAID ACTORS THAT YOU CHOOSE TO COME AND SEE PERFORM. YOU PAY US TO SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF YOU, SO DONT HIT US WHEN WE DO

I feel that this is relevant considering it is October and more Haunted Houses are opening up. I know it seems funny to scare the ‘monsters’ but all you do is hurt real people. So stop.

It’s not even October but I’m still spreading this

SIGNAL BOOOOOOOOSSSSSTTTTT!!!!!!! Now

Yeah…your director may want to consider reblocking

We don’t have a director? Or blocking??? It’s a haunted house bro, not a play

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT.

My sister and boyfriend worked at the 13th Floor Haunted house
and I honestly cannot tell you how many nights they came home, their bodies bruised to hell and back.
I can’t tell you how many times they came home with stories starting off with, “I was bruised, kicked, screamed at, punched, pushed, etc”
I can’t tell you how much abuse they endured for the sake of a pay check and something they loved to do.
I mean, even i worked as a fill in once and went through the same shit!

If you’re planning on going to a haunted house this season and already have it in your head that you’re going to be an asshole
Don’t waste your money or the actor’s time.

I don’t understand why this is such a hard concept to grasp.

I’m gonna throw in my two cents here because I’m the boyfriend of the previous commenter.

We get enough injuries and bruises WITHOUT you assaulting us. Some actors who are in cages, tight spots, around corners, they have to slam their bodies against shit enough already, and a lot of us blow out our voices and such. We sit there for a literal five hour or more shift covered in stick makeup and dirty clothes and we don’t get a break, really, because haunted houses are only open for a number of hours a night.

Being a haunted house actor takes a lot of endurance already, you don’t need to add to it by acting like a rude fucking asshole.
